Along with the art will be a letter in which I explicate my reasons for resigning from ordination and shaking the sands of the United Methodist Church from my shoes.
The project is now four months behind schedule because of my health issues, so I'm making two changes. First, rather than creating all new art, I'll use some already completed pieces. from the original "It's Only a Book" project. Also, I'm going to wrap a narrow band of black fabric around each art piece, reminiscent of the black armbands people wear after the death of a loved one.
The mourning represented is for the death of the United Methodist Church as an inclusive body of Christ.
